IMPEE PhD Student Selected for the Final Round of International Competition
Guochao Bai, a first-year PhD student supervised by Dr Xianwen Kong, has been selected for the final round of the 2015 ASME (America Society of Mechanical Engineers) Student Mechanism and Robot Design Competition in the “Graduate Mechanisms” category. The finals will take place at the ASME 2015 International Design Engineering Technical Conferences & Computers and Information in Engineering Conference (IDETC/CIE 2015) in Boston, USA between 2nd and 5thAugust, 2015.
In his project entitled "Transforming Wheel", Guochao developed a unique reconfigurable wheel that can be used for novel amphibious vehicles. The competition organizer will provide financial support to cover most of his travel, registration and hotel expenses for attending the conference in USA.
